Porn Tech Review: FyreTV

I have a very cool new technology to tell you guys about. It’s called FyreTV and it’s gonna be huge! It’s basically a box very similar to a cable or DirecTV box, except this box doesn’t show anything but porn.

FyreTV sent me a box to test out before it becomes available to the public and so far I’m blown away. I admit that I was skeptical at first, and thought it would give grainy or jerky playback, but it’s actually pretty amazing.

You get on-screen menus very similar to Tivo that are very easy to navigate.

You can find movies based on a variety of search terms and categories, such as titles, performers, scene types, or even specific performer characteristics.

Start your movie from the beginning or select a specific scene through an extensive scene breakdown menu. Fast forward and rewind to target the content you want, and create playlists and log favorites to save your selections.

FyreTV does not download anything to your television or box. Instead, it uses streaming technology across a DSL connection to offer immediate access to the movie of your choice. Avoid delays from buffering and instantly play high-quality adult videos on your television screen.

The movies play on your TV so sharp and crisp that it almost brings a fucking tear to your eye.

FyreTV continues to work with leading adult movie studios to expand its library. Stay up to date on new offerings by visiting FyreTV online or accessing the account menu on your television screen.

They currently offer hundreds of movies from Zero Tolerance, Red Light District, Platinum X, Elegant Angel, Digital Sin, JM Productions, Combat Zone, and a shit load of others.

The other cool thing about FyreTV is that it’s not gonna cost a fortune when it becomes available.

FyreTV will only charge you for the programming you watch. Spend as much time as you want searching for movies or navigating through scene selections. Your time is not logged during fast forwarding, rewinding, or menu browsing.

I’m not sure when this thing is gonna go public, I don’t think a date has been set. I encourage everyone to keep an eye out though, because this thing is the fucking bomb!

New Porn Finding Tool For Law Enforcement Released

December 20th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Mainstream, Porn News, Technology

From XBIZ:

SurfRecon has released in beta its new SurfRecon Law Enforcement Edition rapid-image-analysis forensic tool.

SurfRecon LE allows law-enforcement agents and others to rapidly analyze, detect, review and report on any pornographic content that may exist on a suspect computer.

“We are very excited to finally offer the software to the law enforcement community,” said Matthew Yarro, vice president of marketing for SurfRecon. “We think it is an invaluable tool. The application fits on a thumb drive, is very easy to use and works on almost any Windows, Linux or Apple computer.”

According to SurfRecon, its mission is to develop “tools that minimize the harmful effects that repeated exposure to pornography can cause.”

SurfRecon LE is comprised of a cross-platform, Java-based software application along with an International Forensic Image Database (IFID) containing millions of known safe, sexual, pornographic and child-pornographic images that SurfRecon LE references.

“By leveraging the IFID, SurfRecon LE not only makes the ‘haystack’ smaller, but finds many of the ‘needles’ for you, leaving far fewer images that must be manually processed,” Yarro said.

SurfRecon analyzes the content of a suspect computer, pre-categorizing images as “safe,” “sexual” or “child pornography.”

The application contains obfuscation tools to “minimize the impact of repeated exposure to pornographic and child-pornographic images …. to preserve the mental health of those individuals who must view these disturbing images and enhance their ability to quickly scan, review and identify illegal content.”

“No one wants to be the person that has to look at this garbage, but someone has to do it,” Yarro said. “Hopefully by managing the impact, we protect individuals, their families, and the investment that an organization has made in them.”

I can understand trying to avoid having to look at thousands of images of sick child porn, but to claim that looking at regular porn is going to cause mental damage is ridiculous. This does sound like a tool that could be valuable for parents to quickly scan their child’s computer for pornography.

Researchers Track Down a Plague of Fake Web Pages

March 30th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Tens of thousands of junk Web pages, created only to lure search-engine users to advertisements, are proliferating like billboards strung along freeways. Now Microsoft researchers say they have traced the companies and techniques behind them.

A technical paper published by the researchers says the links promoting such pages are generated by a small group of shadowy operators apparently with the acquiescence of some major advertisers, Web page hosts and advertising syndicators. The report is available at www.cs.ucdavis.edu/~hchen/paper/www07.pdf

The finding is striking because it hints at the possibility of curbing the practice.

The researchers uncovered a complex scheme in which a small group, creating false doorway pages, works with operators of Web-based computers who profit by redirecting traffic passed from search engines in one direction and then sending advertisements acquired from syndicators in the opposite direction.

N.Y. Times: Hi-Def Could Be Too Real for Porn

January 22nd, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

NEW YORK — Once again, the New York Times has turned its attention to adult entertainment, with writer Matt Richtel speaking to such industry notables as Stormy Daniels about the transition to high-definition content.

Writing that the porn industry has traditionally been ahead of the technology curve, Richtel found that some industry professionals haven’t been keen to embrace a technology known for improving picture clarity.

“They have discovered that the technology is sometimes not so sexy,” Richtel wrote. “The hi-def format is accentuating imperfections in the actors — from a little extra cellulite on a leg to wrinkles around the eyes.”

North Korea Successfully Conducts Nuclear Test

October 9th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea said Monday it has performed its first-ever nuclear weapons test, which would confirm that the country has a working atomic bomb as it has long claimed.

The country’s official Korean Central News Agency said the underground test was performed successfully “with indigenous wisdom and technology 100 percent,” and that no radioactive material leaked from that test site.
