To say that our culture is obsessed with celebrity and gossip would be the understatement of the year. I’m not bitching about that, I like reading the gossip rags as much as anyone else. I only bring this up because like our obsession with Hollywood celebrities, there seems to be a fascination with behind the scenes gossip in the porn industry as well.
I’m constantly being asked either in person or by e-mail about porn industry gossip. The truth is that Porn Valley is very much like a big high school complete with petty disagreements, caddy bitches, over-the-top egos, and a little drug use thrown in for good measure.
There’s a handful of blogs that cover the inside scoop on the porn industry. So I’ve compiled a list of the best ones along with a brief description for each. Enjoy!
Fleshbot - Long running blog that covers porn and pop culture, a little too commercial with not a lot of “inside inside” stuff, but still worth a read.
Gram Ponante - Gram Ponante has been writing about the adult industry since 2002. He is a regular contributor to Fleshbot and other sites. He’s tells a lot of shit you won’t hear anywhere else, and he’s hilarious sometimes.
XXX Porn Talk - This forum has a lot of industry insider shit, but the level of discourse tends to be extraordinarily ugly. If character assassination is your specialty than this is definitely the place for you.
Adult FYI - This is the TMZ for the porn industry
Mike South - Mike is a veteran porn director who also runs this porn gossip blog.
Contact Pornstars - This site is run by industry insider Monstar and you can find current porn happenings, promotional shit, announcements, etc.
Porn Star Performance - When a porn star fails to show up for a shoot, acts like a diva, or otherwise acts in an unprofessional manner they end up on here. This serves to alert other directors to be careful when hiring a certain person. On the flip-side, if a girl shows up and does an outstanding job she may also end up on the site. So it’s like a bulletin board for porn directors that says who’s good and who’s bad.
Taylor Rain - The former anal queen herself talks about her life, her love of smoking weed, and more.
