No More DVDs From Playboy And Club Jenna

It looks like Playboy and Club Jenna and ceasing production of DVDs going forward and focusing instead on Internet delivery.

This is just a part of Playboy CEO Kristie Hefner’s decision to trim $10 million in expenses off of Playboy’s bottom line.

I’m becoming increasingly amazed that so many companies are still producing physical dvds. I don’t know who in the hell actually goes to the porn shop to buy a $30 porn movie anymore. I haven’t watched a porn in my DVD player in probably two years or more.

DVDs are a fucking dinosaur and the companies that want to remain relevant are gonna cut that shit out and push their content online.

Playboy Looking For ‘Women Of Wall Street’

Current and former women of the financial industry take notice, because if you’re hot, Playboy is looking for you!

Playboy magazine has reacted to the recent downturn on Wall Street by announcing plans for a “Women of Wall Street” feature for the February issue.

“Given the current economic climate, we thought that Wall Street could use something to smile about right now,” Playboy photo editor Gary Cole said.

Playboy is famous for using current events and news headlines as an inspiration for its world famous pictorials. Personally, I don’t Playboy qualifies as porn. The stuff is weak by any standard, but hot bitches on Wall Street does sound intriguing.

Playboy.com Launches iPlayboy for the iPhone

LOS ANGELES — Playboy.com is jumping on the iPhone bandwagon with the launch of iPlayboy, a collection of downloadable items that can be installed into the new cellphone that goes on sale tomorrow.

Users can download a free set of 12 non-nude Playmate wallpapers, a photo album with 12 additional Playmate photos and a 90-second Cyber Girl video, all formatted for the Apple iPhone screen, plus a one-hour audio episode of Playboy Radio’s “The Playmate Hour” with hosts Miriam Gonzalez (Miss March 2001) and Pilar Lastra (Miss August 2004).

“We have always tried to stay ahead of the curve by delivering the fun, sophistication and sexiness of Playboy to our fans on the newest and hottest media platforms,” Editor of Playboy.com John D. Thomas said. “And with so much buzz surrounding the all-in-one Apple iPhone, we knew we had to develop something specifically designed just for this device.”

Sara Jean Underwood Named 2007 Playmate of the Year

LOS ANGELES — Portland, Ore., native Sara Jean Underwood, 23, was named Playboy’s 2007 Playmate of the Year at a luncheon at the Playboy Mansion on May 3. She received $100,000 and a 2007 Mini Cooper S convertible. She will make her first public appearance as Playmate of the Year today at a pre-Kentucky Derby party in Louisville, Ky.

Underwood is featured in an eight-page nude pictorial in Playboy’s June issue, available on newsstands today, and stars in the DVD release, “Video Centerfold: 2007 Playmate of the Year Sara Jean Underwood,” which streets June 19.

While a business major at Oregon State University, Underwood first appeared in Playboy in the “Girls of the Pac 10″ feature in October 2005. She also appeared on the cover, “wearing” a painted-on Oregon State jersey. She was selected as the July 2006 Playmate and has been featured in episodes of the reality show “The Girls Next Door,” which is set at the Playboy Mansion.

Underwood is the first Miss July to become Playmate of the Year since Playboy named its first Playmate of the Year, Ellen Stratton, in 1960.

Anna Nicole Smith dies at 39

MIAMI (Reuters) - Former Playboy Playmate and billionaire’s widow Anna Nicole Smith has died at the age of 39 after apparently collapsing in a Florida hotel room, her lawyer said on Thursday.

“I can confirm that she is deceased. It’s as shocking to me as to you guys,” Smith’s attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. “I don’t know anything further. (Her lawyer and husband) Howard (K. Stern) obviously is speechless and grieving.

The sudden death of Smith came just five months after Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel Smith, died in the Bahamas three days after the birth of her daughter.
